Amazing Animals - Sabrina Weiss, ill. by Paul Daviz

I absolutely love the trend for oversized, beautifully illustrated, nature-themed hardback picture books of recent years...Animalium, Lost Words etc to name but a few, and so I'm thrilled to have been sent a copy of Amazing Animals, by Sabrina Weiss, illustrated by Paul Daviz, and published by What On Earth books, as its another beauty to add to the collection!

Packed with interesting and detailed facts and descriptions of well and lesser known creatures from around the world, it's bound to pique the interest of young and older readers alike who can read the book alone, with the beautiful illustrations and diagrams, or alongside an adult to prompt discussion.

It certainly worked in my house, inspiring my 7-year old to create his own Amazing Animal fact page ( although I can't vouch for the 100% accuracy of the kung-fu abilities of a Mantis...!)

Thanks to Laura and What On Earth books for having me on the blogtour and providing my copy for review. Check out the other blogstops via the links in the tour poster below:
