Bartholomew and the Morning Monsters - Sophie Berger and Ruan van Vliet

Longlisted for the 2021 Klaus Flugge Prize! 👏👏👏

Reminding me a little of one of my favourite children's books ever - Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak ( I think it was the word 'rumpus' in the opening sentence that did it!) - this is a fun story about how a gang of monsters stop and delay Bartholomew from getting ready to go out with his dad, messing up his hair, his breakfast and playing other horrid tricks...

Eventually, dad steps in to sort things out and get things done ready for school, with all the 'troubles' out of the way...maybe!

Out now from Cicada Books ( or @cicadabooks on Twitter), this book has just been listed as a contender for the Klaus Flugge Prize.
