Crab, Dab & Blenny - Peta Rainford

A lovely rhyming book about the danger of plastics in the ocean, and based on real life rockpools here on the fabulous Isle of Wight!

Blenny lives in a rock pool, and he and his fish friends are upset by the plastic rubbish that washes into their home. The only creature not so concerned is Crab, who is enjoying the range of new homes available!

But when Blenny gets tangled up in some twine, all the creatures realise just how dangerous the rubbish really is...

A lovely tale, but with a serious and current environmental message, the pupils in school loved hearing this read aloud, and it prompted lots of discussion about what we can do to help stop waste ending up in the sea. The bright illustrations and fact that it was written by a local author about beaches near the school (St. Helens) added to the enjoyment, and really brought it home that this is an issue that affects all of us.

Crab, Dab & Blenny is out now, and available through author, Peta Rainford's, website: www.dogpigeon.co.uk
