This is a brilliantly moving story told in verse, and I dare you not to be in puppy-love with Scruffity as he finds his place and way in the world after the cruelest of starts...
Joined in his quest to find love and friendship by a 'manpup' and later 'CharlieMan', Scruffity's voice, once you get into the swing of reading in rhyme, is both captivating and heartbreaking in places to read, as he strives to find Family, using TheWayOfDog along the way to try and help him in the various situations he's placed in.
Ultimately a story of the poser of love and hope, and perseverance, this is dazzling writing, unique and unusual, but all the more enjoyable for it. Unlike anything I've read recently, this will stick with me for a long time.
